| The Kindly Ones Speak of the Devil  April Fool's Day 2006 Produced by Easley / Dorée Frédéric Dorée (editing, programming, vocals) Dan Easley (mixing, guitars, keys, winds, vocals) with DJ Redacted (keyboards and vocals tracks 2-4) Redacted made an edit of the jam that Frédéric turned into The What Brutes Trilogy - we refer to it as the single - it is available here. Part One of The Crazy Machines Suite is a modified and effected edit of a jam Frédéric and Dan conducted within a month or two of What Brutes. Dan's vocal parts on He Lives Right Here were composed using Jack-Rack and Freewheeling; his synth parts on pro/epi-logue and Crazy Machines, pts. 2-6 were made with zynaddsubfx and amSynth; many were composed and tracked (along with a million vocal riffs) using Freewheeling, and then selected and sequenced by Frédéric. What A Brutish Disclaimer: We have used a copyright-free anecdote and Soviet-related song and speech samples only for the dadaistic and sheer absurdist value they bring to the songs. Whatever our 'views' on the history and state of Russian politics, they do not enter into our art. However, Dan would like to mention his great respect for the filmwork of Andrei Tarkovsy. |
